WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 CARBINE
#359568. Cal 44-40 WCF. Third Model Carbine. Standard 20" Round Barrel. Gun has an overall nice brown patina with some traces of the original blue. Standard and correct front and carbine rear sight. Mechanically perfect with a very fine bore! Wood has several dings and handling marks which is normal for a carbine that has seen a lot of use. THe carbine was manufactured in 1890! The left side of the stock has a long scratch and a branded number "1892" (year?) on it. The right side of the fore-end has what is generally called " saddle wear", unusual for a carbine! Some surface pitting on muzzle near the front sight. Total production of 720.609 WInchester Model 1873, about 263.500 were carbines. Fine + condition. Good honest 1873 Carbines in Cal.44-40 are getting hard to find in this or any condition! Cartridges shown for information purposes only.
