UNION OFFICER PORTRAIT
Framed drawing of a Union Captain of Infantry signed "JW De Cadeza 1880". Do not know if this is the name of the artist or the officer pictured. The back of the picture must have had a logo of the maker but only a small part is remaining. Also on the back is a sticker with all the Backbnoard Patent dates, 1880 and 1883, and the name of the manufacturer "Detcher Mfg. Co., Buffalo. It must be assumed that the portait was drawn in 1880 and framed in 1883. Unusual piece, a very nice addition for an Indian Wars collection. The drawing is in very fine condition! Frame measures 31" x 27"inch, picture 21" x 17 1/2" inch.
