STARR MODEL 1858 DOUBLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER

#13919 Cal. 44 Percussion. Standard 6" Round barrel. Gun retains about 60% of original blue and 75% of colour case on hammer and lever. All serial numbers on the gun are matching and correct. It is military inspected with inspector cartouches on both grips; GKC (George K. Charter, military inspector for Starr revolvers in 1863) on right grip, and GFC (George F. Cook, military inspector for Starr revolvers in 1863) on the left grip. It was manufactured in 1863. A total of 23.000 Model 1858 revolvers were manufactured, about 21.000 were military and the balance of 2.000 for the civilian market. This is a good example of an important Civil War revolver that was one of the few double action revolvers used during the Civil War. Excellent.
