THE EASTERN OREGON GOLD MINING COMPANY LIMITED
Gold discovered in 1862 in Cracker Creek contributed to a mining boom that stoked the settlement of eastern Oregon. Mining camps emerged along the creek and downstream along the Powder River and at McCully Creek. Miners found gold sources high in the Elkhorn Mountains, where camps were set up to recover the precious metals. Here is a Eastern Oregon Gold Mining Company share Warrant. Text is in English on the front and French on the back. Dated Feby 28, 1889, Serial No. 42696, for five shares of £1. Incorporated under the Companies Acts 1862 to 1883 and signed by two directors and the secreatry of the company. Issued and uncancelled, certificate is in good condition, with fold marks, slight edgewear. The document comes with the company seal stamped next to the secretary's signature. There are 14 intact coupons 1-14 and the talon attached. Very fine overall condition.
