WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 RIFLE
#38896. Cal. 40-60 WCF. Third model. Standard Round 28" barrel. Retains about 75% of the original blue on the barrel (with a few minor spots on the right side), the frame has 80% nice blue, hammer with traces of colour case. Standard front and rear sight. The walnut stock is in very good condition and retains most of the original varnish with scattered handling and storage marks. The forearm shows some wear to the finish. Mechanically perfect and has a bright shiny bore. Made in 1883. Rare caliber. Out of a total production of 63.871, only 1.823 Model 1876 rifles with 28 inch round barrels were chambered in 40-60 WCF caliber. A good looking honest standard 1876 Rifle. Comes with a 4 section cleaning rod in the buttstock. Excellent condition. Cartridges shown for information purposes only.
