U.S. Model 1876 Mc. Keever Second Type Watervliet Arsenal Caliber 45-70 Indian War Cartridge Box. Has the brass escutcheon plate and brass top corner staples. With embossed "US" on front of box. Marking on closing tab is not visible. Has an inspector's mark "A.R. SMITH" (Watervliet Arsenal Inspector) on the lower bellows, plus a second group of inspector's initials in the center that are only partly visible. Holds 20 cartridges. In used but very good condition. Early box.
