WADE WINGFIELD AND ROWBOTHAM
Bowie type knife stamped on ricasso SHEFFIELD/ENGLAND. The blade is signed on one side "WADE WINGFIELD & ROWBOTHAM/SHEFFIELD" plus a Harp & Crown monogram (patented in the early 1880,s). The firm of Rowbotham & Wingfield was listed in 1797, the name was changed to Wade Wingfield & Rowbotham in 1818. Knife blade is 6" long, overall length is 10 3/4". Comes with a brown leather sheath with a belt loop. The curved Stag horn handle is attached with four steel pins. Probably made in the early 1880,s. Very fine condition. (NOTE!
