ANTIQUE POLICE HANDCUFFS.
Handcuff Chain Nipper Twisters. Made of Nickle Plated Steel. Used before regular handcuffs were invented. Loops around the wrist and the officer would hold the ends. Early 1900"s. The Twister was often called the most barbaric style of handcuff. Instead of relying on a lock, this device worked off of cruelty. A metal chain with a handle on each length could be adjusted to many sizes, but could always be tightened more severely to elicit greater compliance from the captor. One handle is 3.1/2" the other 3.1/4". Overall measures 12 3/4". Unmarked, very fine condition.
