CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA
$20 note issued by the Confederate States of America, in Richmond Virginia dated September 2,1861, series A 14 with number 31144. Printed by "Hoyer & Ludwig". The Confederate $20 bill featuring a three-masted vessel and a sailor leaning on a capstan at left. "Confederate States of" in a curve above vessel. "20" upper, and "XX" lower right. Payable "Six Months after Peace". As proof of its authenticity, each Confederate bill was hand-signed and numbered by Confederate officials. Printed in the early days of the Civil War. The note is in a used but very fine condition. Has two pin-point holes, one in the back of the sailor, the second just above the serial number. (Size 185X80mm) .
